Every Vikram Samvat is governed by a King (Raja) and a Minister (Mantri). The lunar year new Vikram Samvat 2082 started on March 30 2025. The ruling celestial bodies for 2082, Raja (King) and Mantri (Minister) both are Sun. Just before the dawn of new Samvat, a Solar Eclipse occurred on March 29, 2025 and coincidentally, preceded by a Lunar Eclipse on Full Moon day March 13/14, fourteen days ago.

The appearance eclipses play a great role. If two eclipses, of course one solar and one lunar, occur within 14 days, there, generally, will be many types of troubles and turmoils.

At the time of commencement of the lunar year in planetary transits six planets associated in the sign of Pisces. A rare alignment of Sun, Moon, Rx-Mercury, Rx-Venus, Rahu, and Saturn provided the intense cosmic collaboration centred on power-play and paradigm shifts. Interestingly, Donald Trump announced reciprocal tariffs kick in from April 2.

The ongoing conjunction of Saturn and Rahu till May 18, 2025 is a dreaded one. Saturn who is responsible for mass movements of all kinds — benign as well as destructive — and Rahu symbolizes unexpected and sudden happenings. Their association indicates ruckus in geopolitics and global economic crisis, particulary trade in goods and services and share markets.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance’s agenda during his recent visit to India was to formally announce the finalisation of the Terms of Reference for the negotiation. Again, planets are going to play major role supporting these endeavours.

On May 14, 2025 Jupiter moves in Gemini and Rahu/ Ketu in Aquarius/ Leo on May 18, 2025. The reciprocal tariff is currently pause is set to expire on July 8, 2025. Therefore, astrologically there are some positive expectations in ongoing trade negotiations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, keeping in mind the ongoing tariff turmoil, India should focus on key sectors of economy to strengthen it’s position. Although astrological analysis is indicating mixed results, the planetary transits will impact Indian affairs strongly. Rahu’s sojourn in Aquarius — with effect from May 18, 2025 — for the next 18 months are very promising for e-commerce market. Electronics, aviation, artificial intelligence, and research sectors will flourish.

In the coming months Jupiter transits in accelerated motion (atichari), crosses three signs, Taurus, Gemini and its exalted sign Cancer. Usually, Jupiter transits in a sign for 13 months. This unusual movement of Jupiter will play a saviour’s role significantly in forthcoming geopolitical as well as economic issues. During the transitional phase of economy, the prospects of yellow metal are promising. Jupiter’s stay in Gemini from May 15, 2025 to October 18, 2025, and then in its exalted sign Cancer till December 5, 2025, will keep gold prices upwards. Gold is becoming more and more popular as a recession hedging alternative.

Real Estate might face resistance or re-assesment in market values. Mars’ entry in Leo, conjunction with Ketu from June 6 to July 28 and then Mars moves in Virgo, opposing Saturn till September 13, are not favourable periods for real Estate business. Though Mars-Saturn opposition is favourable for oil and gas segments.

A Kaal Sarp Yoga will also occur during these months. These planetary positions occurring during this period presage natural calamities, politically and economically tough period.

General stock market trends in 2025 are risky and unusual. Common man and small investors should keep financial prudence. Don’t look for breakouts in consolidation phase, either keep patience or chase the momentum with fast entry and fast exit mechanism.

Saturn, staying in Jupiter’s own house Pisces is significantly slowing momentum. It is more a factor for course correction than a steady motions in business-friendly environment to raise sentiments without hiccups.

It would not be surprising news, if government comes out with new policies and structural reforms in focused sectors in the current financial year, in the times of global trade war.
