New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann ki Baat address, highlighted a major leap in India’s welfare coverage, stating that over 95 crore Indians now benefit from at least one social security scheme—up from less than 25 crore in 2015. Citing the International Labour Organisation, he said 64 percent of the population now receives some form of social protection.
