Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident of kidnapping was reported from Baghraji police post in Jabalpur district, where a married woman was allegedly abducted in the presence of police officials.
As per reports, victim Rukhsar Khan and her husband, Sameer Khan, visited the police station on Wednesday to provide a statement after their recent marriage on March 24.
The situation escalated when Rukhsar's family hatched a plan of kidnapping, leading to chaotic scenes at the police station. Sameer claimed the police conspired with Rukhsar's family, luring her to the station under false pretence. In a dramatic turn, family members allegedly assaulted Sameer, using chilli powder to blind him, before forcibly taking Rukhsar away.
A video capturing the turmoil at the station has gone viral, which puts a question mark on police’s role.
Additional SP Suryakant Sharma initiated an inquiry into the incident. He promised that any officers complicit in the alleged conspiracy would face strict disciplinary action.
Food officials collect samples, tell vendors to maintain hygiene
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Food Department inspected various shops, street kiosks and restaurants in Tilhari locality, Ekta Market area, Sadar Choupati and collected samples of eatables available there.
Action was taken on instructions of collector Deepak Saxena. Food samples would be sent to Bhopal for testing.
Considering the summer season, team issued instructions to the shops, bakery, restaurants and street kiosks to maintain hygiene while preparing and selling food.
The Food safety officers provided on-the-spot training to all vendors and junk food operators in the area, as per Schedule 4 of food safety regulations and directed them to display Food Safety Display Boards.
Food Safety Officer Pankaj Srivastava said that the Food Safety Administration is acting against junk food, street food and fast food establishments.
He cautioned that action will be taken against establishments having unhygienic conditions, unsanitary manufacturing practices, and failing to display licences.
He emphasized that strict action will be taken against individuals if their food samples were found substandard under provisions of the Food Safety Act and relevant regulations and their cases will be presented before the court.
The team collected food samples of paneer, kabuli chana, maida, besan, burger, ice cream, phulki pani, namkeen, snacks.
