According to information, the incident happened after the minister attended the wedding of the son of former Union Minister and current Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar in Gwalior.
Later that night, Minister Patel went to Quality Restaurant in Patel Nagar for dinner.
Since it was Sunday, the restaurant was full and all tables were reserved. The hotel staff, not recognising the minister because he was dressed in formal clothes instead of his usual kurta-pajama, asked him to wait. This angered the minister.
Upset that he wasn’t recognised or given a table, Minister Patel immediately called the food safety department and complained about the restaurant’s cleanliness.
The safety team reached the hotel quickly and collected food samples from the kitchen.
As soon as the restaurant staff found out who he was, they apologised. Soon after, BJP district president, media in-charge, and police officers also arrived at the restaurant.
The minister was given a seat, and the situation was resolved.
