Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A man shot himself to death allegedly over his daughter’s love marriage under Jhansi road police station limits, as reported by police on Thursday.
Angry over his death, the deceased’s relatives brutally assaulted the girl's father-in-law. They dragged him out of the house and brutally thrashed him on road. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media.

As per sources, he was deeply upset after his daughter, Harshita, married her boyfriend Anand Prajapati in court with mutual consent. About 15 days ago, Harshit went missing from her home. Police later found her in Indore and brought her back to her family. However, following a court order, she returned to her husband Anand.
It is also said that Rishiraj was alone at home when he took the extreme step, as his wife and son were out at that time.
When neighbors saw Rishiraj’s body lying in a pool of blood, they immediately informed the police and family members.
Video of assault goes viral
Soon after the news spread, some of Rishiraj’s relatives allegedly dragged Anand’s father, Gulab Prajapati, out of his house and beat him badly. A video of the assault is now being widely shared on social media platforms X and Instagram.
Police have recovered the licensed gun from the scene and sent the body for postmortem. The incident is under investigation.
Meanwhile, the viral video has been taken into police notice, and efforts are being made to identify those involved in the assault.
