Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Two persons died while others were injured when a car overturned after colliding with a road divider near Halalpura Bus Stand on Tuesday night. The deceased were brothers-in-law and were taking the pregnant wife of one of them to a private hospital for delivery.
The woman gave birth to a baby girl a few hours after the death of her husband. Mudla village (Ratibad) residents Mahendra Mewada had first taken his wife Babli to Hamidia Hospital. However, the family later decided to admit the woman to a private hospital in Bairagarh when she experienced labour pain late at night.
On way to a private hospital, their car first hit a road divider near Halalpura Bus Stand and then overturned.

Locals rescued the injured family members and rushed them to Hamidia Hospital where Mahendra Mewada (26) and his brother-in-law Satish Mewada (25) were declared brought dead on arrival. Mahendra’s mother Batashi Bai suffered fracture in her hands, shoulders and legs while his sister also received injuries.
A few hours later, Babli gave birth to a baby girl at Hamidia Hospital. Mahendra married Babli three years ago and it was their first child. Mahendra was second among three siblings.
Koh-e-Fiza police station incharge Brajendra Marskole said the bodies were handed over to family after post-mortem. Primary investigations suggest that Mahendra failed to see the road divider, which resulted in collision.
