Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A case of fraud has come to light in the Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) of Gwalior, where a man's death allegedly provided government jobs for 3 different family members.
It all started with pump attendant Bhoop Singh.
According to information, years ago, his son Ravi falsely declared his father dead while Bhoop Singh was still alive and working. Based on this fake death claim, Ravi was given a job in the department under the compassionate appointment scheme.
‘Anukampa’ or compassionate appointment scheme allows family members to get a job after the death of a government employee.
But the story doesn’t end there.
Later, when Bhoop Singh actually passed away in 2021, his younger son Pushpendra also applied for a compassionate appointment - and got the job too.
This means Bhoop Singh was ‘declared dead’ twice, and both times a son received a job.
To make matters worse, after Ravi (the elder son) passed away in 2022, his wife Uma applied for a job under the same scheme and was also given a position in 2023.
