According to information, the decision came after a man from Ayodhya died and eight others were injured when a waterproof tent fell due to heavy rain and strong winds on Thursday morning.
In response to the incident, Dhirendra Shastri said, “This dham is our home, and the people here are our family. When there is pain in the family, celebrations can wait.” He said the affected family is like their own and that cancelling the events was the right thing to do.
He also clarified that only a small pipe structure of an old tent had fallen and not the main three sheds where the event was being held. “The three shades are safe—we’re sitting under them. They were installed instead of regular tents, keeping last year’s weather conditions in mind,” he said. These shades cover an area of 50,000 sq. ft.
