Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A mother and daughter lost their lives after a speeding vehicle rammed into their bike in Gwalior on Sunday.

The son was seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to information, the accident took place near Badnapura turn in Gwalior, when a speeding Thar vehicle hit their bike from behind.

The woman's son, who was also riding with them, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment.

The accident occurred when Sonu alias Sanjay Kushwah, a resident of Nimbaji Ki Khoh, was on his way to his uncle’s house in Saujana Tighra village along with his mother Gaura Devi and sister Gauri.

As they reached near Motijheel, a fast-moving Thar jeep rammed into their bike from behind.

The impact threw all three riders into the air, leaving them severely injured.

Police reached the spot soon after and took the victims to the hospital, where doctors declared the mother and daughter dead due to serious head injuries. The son is being treated in the hospital.

The Thar vehicle is said to belong to former corporator Chandan Rai. The driver fled the scene after the crash.

Police are scanning CCTV footage from the area to trace the vehicle and its driver.

Meanwhile, the victim’s family has raised suspicions of foul play. They mentioned an ongoing dispute with a neighbour and believe the accident could have been intentional. Bahodapur police have started a full investigation.
