Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A part of roof of Government Boys School in Jabalpur collapsed during an ongoing class allegedly due to rainfall on Monday.
Fortunately, no student was injured, and they were immediately shifted to other rooms for safety.
The visuals shows the disturbing condition of the dilapidated building, with fractured walls, broken furniture and students forced to sit on ground.
Teachers question system
Teachers at the school claim that they have been complaining to the Collector and District Education Officer for years, but no action has been taken till date. They question - if something tragic happens, who will be held responsible?

Technical committee formed
In response, the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation has announced a major decision. A technical experts committee has been formed by Commissioner Preeti Yadav. This team will now inspect all government school buildings within the municipal limits.
The unsafe school buildings will be identified, and students will be shifted from such buildings to safer classrooms. The commissioner has also ordered repairs for all damaged school structures.
Even at present, many schools in the city are running in old and unsafe buildings.
Regarding the matter, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Jabalpur, Preeti Yadav said, “We have formed a technical committee to inspect all government school buildings thoroughly. Unsafe structures will be vacated and repaired on priority.”
