Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has ordered the suspension of seven engineers, including two Chief Engineers, in connection with the faulty design of the railway over-bridge (ROB) at Aishbagh, Bhopal.
In a social media post, he confirmed that eight engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD) have been held accountable for serious negligence in the bridge’s design and construction.

“Taking note of the issue, I had ordered an inquiry. Based on the investigation report, seven engineers, including two Chief Engineers, have been suspended with immediate effect. Departmental action will also be taken against a retired Superintending Engineer,” CM Yadav stated.
He further added that both the construction agency and the design consultant involved in the project have been blacklisted for submitting a faulty design of the ROB, which features a sharp and controversial 90-degree turn that sparked nationwide concern and online mockery.
A special committee has been formed to suggest necessary improvements to the bridge.
The ROB will only be inaugurated after all corrections are completed, ensuring public safety.
