Rape & Blackmailing Case Bhopal: Police Scan Financial Sources Of Accused

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Police are investigating into the financial sources of the accused in the infamous rape and blackmailing case, which involves multiple victims including a minor.

It has come to fore that the prime accused Farhan Khan aka Faraz and his aides used to spend lavishly on the victims in a bid to trap them.

They used to take the victims to hotels, restaurants in luxury cars. However, police during investigation found that none of them was from a well-off family.

Farhan’s father is a taxi driver while many of the accused do odd jobs or are unemployed.

Police officials said that mobile and call details of the accused were being scanned to learn about persons with whom they were in contact. It is suspected that they may have been involved in illegal activities or were being funded for trapping the victim and passing them on to others.

It is worth mentioning that the prime accused Farhan Khan had befriended two orphan sisters who were in his college. He used to take them for dinner at hotels and restaurants despite the fact that he himself had taken a loan to pay college fee.

Farhan’s two sisters were also students of the same college and their roles in the case are also under investigation, police officials said. Till now, three among six accused in the case have been arrested and sent to jail.

However, the number of victims and the accused may increase following further investigations, police officials said.

Bid to sell obscene videos

Police are also investigating the possibility that the accused may have made attempts to sell the obscene videos of the victims on dark web.

Police are scanning the mobile and bank transactions of the accused to learn about their financial sources.

It is worth mentioning that police have found around a dozen obscene videos of victims in Farhan’s mobile phone. He was seen raping and torturing the victims in the videos.
