Rainwater Dripping From School Of Excellence Ceiling In MP's Chhatarpur

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): The building of Excellence School in the city is in ruins these days. Rainwater is dripping from the ceiling because of roof leaks and through the cracks in the walls.

The campus is filled with rainwater, causing trouble for the students. According to reports, the school is running the classes for the students of six and eight from another campus.

There are 570 students on the campus. According to sources, the condition of the building is so bad that it may collapse any time. In charge of the school, Ramprakash Vajpayee has said the students from classes 6 to 12 study in the school.

But there are problems with holding classes for the students of classes 6 and 8. The government sanctioned ₹5 lakh in 2022-23 for repairing the building, for which a tender was floated, he said.

The work also started, but the budget lapsed, he said, adding that the public representatives called for admission of children, but they did not give financial help from their funds for development of the school.

If the public representatives give financial aid, the condition of the school can be improved. According to him, collector Parth Jaiswal said he would give instructions to the school principal regarding the repair work.

District education officer RP Prajapati assured that he would conduct an inquiry and solve the problems. The available funds will be used for improving the infrastructure of the school, he said.
