Protesting Women Cut Hair At Bhopal's Rani Kamlapati Station, Demand Second Round Of Teacher Recruitment Counselling
They urged the government to conduct a second round of counseling to fill these positions.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Demanding a second round of teacher recruitment counselling, protesting female candidates cut their hair and held begging bowls at Bhopal’s Rani Kamlapati Railway Station on Thursday.
The protestors warned that if the government does not increase the number of posts, they will be forced to perform a mass head-shaving ceremony.
Holding bowls in their hands, several women were seen crying as they protested. Some even cut their hair in public to express their frustration and pain.
According to information, the candidates are demanding that the government increase the number of vacant posts and conduct a second round of counseling for the recruitment process.
One of the protestors, Anupama Sharma, said that if the government fails to meet their demands, all the women present will shave their heads as a sign of protest. “It will be a matter of great shame for the government if women are forced to take such extreme steps,” she said.

Another candidate, Jigyasa Thakur, said, “The government talks about women empowerment, but we are forced to suffer. We have passed both the eligibility and selection exams, yet we are still on the waiting list. Out of 8,720 posts, only 2,900 have been filled. Many teaching posts remain vacant in schools, so why aren't they being filled?”
The protestors also mentioned that according to the Gazette notification dated 27 December 2024, over 15,000 posts are still vacant in the Tribal Affairs Department.
They urged the government to conduct a second round of counseling to fill these positions.
The protestors warned that if the government does not increase the number of posts, they will be forced to perform a mass head-shaving ceremony (mundan sanskar) as a stronger mark of protest.
