Posing As Female IPS Officer, 19-Year-Old Youth From Jabalpur Cheats Over 50 Times Across 3 States; Held In UP
This youth has committed more than 50 crimes in UP, Rajasthan and Gujarat by introducing himself as a female IPS officer.

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 19-year-old youth from Jabalpur has been arrested in UP on charges of fraud.
This youth has committed more than 50 crimes in UP, Rajasthan and Gujarat by introducing himself as a female IPS officer.
Accused Sanket Yadav used to call the station in-charges in the voice of female officers and say that illegal money is being transferred from a customer service center in their area. He would instruct the TI to go and investigate and make him talk to the operator of that center.
When the operator came on the phone, he would threaten him that the police is going to arrest you, if you want to avoid arrest, I am sending a QR code, transfer 10 thousand rupees.

Sanket is only 9th pass and while working as a cleaner in Ujjain's Mahakal temple, he learned to imitate the officers' speech. Later, while working in the customer service center, he also understood the way of money transactions.
After reaching UP, he took the profile photos of female officers from Google and put them on Truecaller and WhatsApp and created a real identity.
Kasganj police arrested him from the railway station on July 15 when he was misleading the Mathura police in the name of SP Ankita Sharma. Sanket was earlier also caught in cyber fraud and was released from Badaun jail on June 25.
Police suspect that he must have committed fraud in the same manner in Madhya Pradesh. Now UP and MP police are interrogating him.

During police interrogation, he told that while working as a cleaner at Mahakal temple in Ujjain, he used to listen to the officers. It was from here that he learned the ways of conversation.
Then he worked at a customer service center and came to know that illegal money is transferred there. Later, when he reached UP in search of work, one day he spoke to someone in a woman's voice. He did not have any clue. Then the idea of cheating came to his mind.
Dad is handicapped, mother runs a small tea shop
During interrogation, the police came to know that Sanket's father Umashankar, who lives in Thapak Mohalla in Patan, Jabalpur, is a handicapped. His mother runs a small tea shop in Patan. He left home at the age of 15.
He went to Ujjain in 2021 and started working as a cleaner at Mahakal temple. The place where he used to work. Police was often deployed there due to VIP movement. During this time he learned how policemen talk to senior officers.
