Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A security situation was reported at Jabalpur’s Dumna Airport on Tuesday when two live cartridges were discovered in the bag of a youth during luggage screening. The incident occurred when Atiq Ahmed arrived at the airport to board a flight to Bengaluru.

During the baggage check, airport security official saw a suspicious item inside Atiq’s bag as it passed through the X ray scanner. On inspection, two live cartridges were found which made officials to take immediate action. He was separated from the passenger line and detained by security officials.
The airport authority informed the Khamaria police station. Police officers including Dumna outpost in charge Nitin Pandey arrived at the scene and took Atiq Ahmed into custody for questioning. Authorities are investigating how the cartridges came in his bag and whether he has any criminal background.
Outpost in charge Pandey said that the matter is being searched and an FIR will be registered soon. Observations suggest a possible security lapse, but officials emphasize that a detailed investigation is required to know the full circumstances of the case.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the work of security checks at Dumna Airport. Authorities are now reviewing protocols to ensure that such lapses do not occur again in future. Police are continuing their inquiry to get more information about the incident.
