Off-Duty Cops On Family Outing In Bhopal Rescues 34-Year-Old Woman Attempting Suicide | AI
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Off-duty cops who were on family outing rescued a woman who jumped into Bhadbhada dam on Monday evening. The 34-year-old woman attempted suicide following a domestic dispute with her husband.
With swift action of off-duty police personnel and park guard, the woman was pulled out safely and is now out of danger, police officials said.
According to police, the woman, a resident of Gora village, left her slippers and scarf on the Bhadbhada Bridge at 6.30 pm before jumping into the water body.
Head constable Balram Nagpure who was present at the spot with his family noticed the incident and immediately raised an alarm. He encouraged the struggling woman to keep moving her hands and stay afloat.

Acting quickly, Nagpure’s wife and other visiting women gathered 10-15 scarves (dupattas), tied them together into a makeshift rope, and dropped it down from the bridge. The woman held on to it.
Meanwhile, park guard Anil jumped into the lake from the temple side. Head constables Raghunath Verma and Manohar Bamnia also plunged into the water body to assist.
Anil reached the woman first and helped her stay afloat, while the others guided her toward the edge with the help of dupatta rope. With joint efforts, the policemen managed to bring the woman out of the water.
Constables Chanchal Bastwar and Rajesh Vishwakarma who were passing by helped in transporting the woman to nearby hospital for treatment. Her husband arrived at the hospital later.
