MP's New Policy To Build Helipads Every 45km, Airports At 150km Sparks Mixed Reactions; 'Big Leap' Or 'Waste' Netizens Comment
Under this policy, helipads will be built every 45 kilometers, and airports will be constructed every 150 kilometers.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Madhya Pradesh government has recently approved a new Civil Aviation Policy aimed at boosting air connectivity in the state. Under this policy, helipads will be built every 45 kilometers, and airports will be constructed every 150 kilometers.
This has drawn several reactions from netizens, with some praising it as a step toward development and others questioning its necessity and feasibility.
Indian Infra Report also shared the news on X, highlighting the Madhya Pradesh government's aviation expansion plan.
Many social media users have lauded the move, calling it a step toward development. One user commented, "Aviation infrastructure will boost travel and tourism. It’s a much-needed initiative."
Another said, "It’s high time all states contribute equally to India's GDP. At least MP is taking a step forward."
However, there are also voices of skepticism. Some question whether MP needs such an ambitious plan, arguing that funds should be allocated to more pressing issues like health, education, and poverty.
A user wrote, "Is MP actually this developed that they need an airport every 150 km?" Others pointed out the operational challenges, with one stating, "Gujarat has only nine operational airports, and Maharashtra, Karnataka, and UP have eight each. How realistic is this plan for MP?"
Currently, MP has five operational airports, and the new policy aims to add ten more, bringing the total to between 15 and 24. While supporters believe this initiative will strengthen regional connectivity, critics question whether the investment is justified.
Ahead of the Global Investors Summit (GIS), the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday approved seven new policies to boost investment in the state. These include:
MSME Policy
Start-Up Policy and Implementation Plan
Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy
Integrated Township Policy
Aviation Policy
Bio-fuel to be clubbed with Renewable Energy
Ashoka Hotel to be given on PPP model
These policies aim to create a favorable business environment and drive economic growth in Madhya Pradesh.
