MP Weather Updates: Chill Intensifies After Mercury Plummets Further In State; Sharp Drop In Temperature continues, 2.5 Degrees Drop In Night Temperature In Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Mercury plummeted further intensifying chill in the state on Sunday. Maximum temperature fell appreciably in districts of Ujjain, Rewa, Jabalpur, Shahdol divisions.
Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in districts of Rewa, Jabalpur, Shahdol divisions. Shallow fog prevailed in Niwari and Chhatarpur districts and shallow to moderate fog prevailed in Bhind, Morena and Gwalior districts. In Bhopal, after sharp drop in day temperature, night temperature also dropped sharply on Sunday.
Drop of 2.5 degrees was recorded in day temperature on Saturday. A 2.5 degrees Celsius drop in night temperature was recorded in Bhopal on Sunday. Bhopal recorded a day temperature of 25.0 degrees while it recorded 7.9 degrees night temperature after drop of 2.5 degrees Celsius.
Indore recorded 25.5 degrees Celsius day temperature while it recorded a night temperature of 13.9 degrees Celsius. According to the meteorological department, a sharp drop in temperature is due to cyclonic circulation which lies over south-west Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan while another cyclonic circulation lies over Punjab and adjoining Haryana.
Sub-tropical westerly jet stream is prevailing over North India. Another fresh and active western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region and adjoining plains from December 27. Shallow to moderate fog is likely at isolated places in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind and Morena districts.
