Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has filed a formal complaint with the University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding fake universities operating in Madhya Pradesh. The UGC has responded by instructing the state government to conduct an investigation and submit a report on the matter.
NSUI leader Ravi Parmar stated that around 70% of the universities in the state are functioning only on paper. He further claimed that the MP Private University Regulatory Commission had previously directed several universities to appoint qualified Vice Chancellors (VCs) but many institutions still lack eligible VCs.
