Fraudster Held For Duping Woman On Job Pretext

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Kolar police on Sunday arrested a fraudster who duped a woman of Rs 7.20 lakh in cash on pretext of providing a job at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT).

The accused was at large for over two-and-half years and was carrying a reward of Rs 4k on his arrest. Kolar police station In-charge TI Sanjay Soni said an FIR was registered against Narendra Deshmukh aka Raju on the complaint of Usha Devi on March 2022.

Usha Devi in her complaint said that Narendra Deshmukh, a resident of Ashoka Garden area promised her daughter-in-law Puja Srivastava to provide her a job as a librarian at MANIT. Deshmukh took Rs 7.20 lakh from Puja and then fled.

During investigation police learnt that Deshmukh had duped some other persons on the same pretext. Police launched a manhunt for Narendra Deshmukh but he was continuously evading arrest. Following a tip-off and using surveillance, the police team traced the location of Narendra and arrested him on Sunday. He was being further questioned to ascertain his involvement in other cases of fraud and cheating, the TI added.

Baby Elephant Born In Panna Tiger Reserve

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An elephant calf was born in Panna Tiger Reserve at 2 pm on Monday. Mother and baby are fine. The Panna forest officials are in a celebratory mood following the new arrival.

Panna Tiger Reserve officials said 14-year-old female elephant Ananti gave birth to baby elephant. With this, the total number of elephants has increased to 20 in Tiger Reserve.

Notably, Panna Tiger Reserve has the oldest female elephant of the world, which is 100 years old though the Reserve does not have record to prove its age. This longest surviving female elephant was caught from Kerala and brought to Panna.
