Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Director General of Police Kailash Makwana has set right the system of appointment on compassionate grounds. He also removed those working in the department for a long time and shifted the tainted ones from the police stations.

Now that the system has been put on the track, the eligible candidates are getting jobs in the police department on compassionate grounds without paying money or the approach of anyone. As a result, 205 persons have been appointed on compassionate grounds in the past six months.

The posts against which the appointments were given were ASI, constable and Child Constable or Child Protector. An individual seeking a job on compassionate grounds has to move from pillar to post.

Makwana has issued directives that the relatives of the deceased policemen, if eligible, should be asked to apply for appointment on compassionate grounds. There should not be any errors in the application, the order said.

Afterwards, all formalities should be fulfilled, and the person should be given the job without delay.

The DGP has clearly told the officers that, on the one hand, there is a shortage of staff in the police department. On the other, the relatives of the deceased policemen have to move from pillar to post for a job on compassionate grounds.

He also directed the administrative wing to ensure that the genuine people should not move from here and there for a job on compassionate grounds. After the DGP’s instructions, the pending cases of appointment on compassionate grounds are being disposed of.

The same policy has been applied for the genuine cases of transfer. An arrangement has been made for quick disposal of the cases of those who need transfer for serious illness. This is the reason why the DGP is sending the orders directly to the people concerned. His purpose is to stop corruption.
