MP Monsoon Session Day-8: 'Govt Determined For Tribal Development, We Invite Opposition's Suggestions,' Says MP CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has promised development work for state's tribal area, inviting ideas not only from party but opposition members, on the 8th day of Monsoon Session (Monday).

Speaking to media at state's Assembly, CM Yadav said, "The government will appreciate and stand with the ideas and suggestions made by opposition regarding development in tribal areas of state."

“We believe in working beyond party lines,” he concluded.

Bhagoria to be given national recognition

The CM further said that in order to honour tribal traditions, festivals like Bhagoria and other tribal celebrations will be given national recognition.

He added that the government is promoting traditional musical instruments by discouraging the use of DJs at tribal events.

He assured that no tribal community will be allowed to face any difficulties, and that several development projects have already been initiated in tribal regions. He further emphasised that no tribal family will be displaced during the monsoon season.

Over 23k land pattas issued for tribals

Responding to a call attention motion raised in the Assembly by Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar regarding the denial of forest land rights to tribals, the Chief Minister said that the state government has issued over 23,000 land pattas, while the previous Congress government did not issue even a single patta during its tenure.

He also addressed the impact of heavy rains across the state. The Chief Minister informed that collectors have been directed to speed up relief and rehabilitation efforts to address loss of life and property. He assured that the government stands firmly with the flood-affected people.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar alleged that the government is rejecting a large number of tribal claims under the Forest Rights Act, stating that 3.22 lakh claims have been dismissed across the state.
