Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Several parts of Madhya Pradesh are experiencing strong winds, rain, and hailstorms in early May. These changes are attributed to three active cyclonic circulation systems affecting the state.
Weather expected on Sunday
On Sunday, hailstorms are likely in Umaria, Shahdol, Dindori, and Anuppur. Rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in several districts including Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Indore, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Khargone, Ratlam, and 30 other districts. There is a possibility of lightning and moderate to heavy rain.

IMD Bhopal’s senior meteorologist said that apart from the three cyclonic systems, two troughs are also passing through the region, which is causing the weather disturbance. This unstable weather is likely to continue until May 7, bringing strong winds and more rain.
Weather expected in next 2 days
On May 5, weather conditions are expected to remain similar. Thunderstorms with rain and gusty winds are expected in over 50 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Rewa, Sagar, Shivpuri, Khargone, and many others. Strong winds, lightning, and rain are likely.
Whereas, on May 6, stormy weather may continue in most parts of the state. Rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in nearly the same districts as the previous day. Hailstorms may also occur in some areas. The weather will remain unstable.

On Saturday, a dust storm swept through Bhopal, while many other districts received rainfall and hail. Similar weather conditions are expected on Sunday as well, with an alert issued for 45 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur.
Despite the storms, temperatures remain high in many areas. Narsinghpur was the hottest place on Saturday, recording 43.8°C. Other hot spots included Ratlam (43.4°C), Khargone (42.6°C), Shajapur (42.4°C), and Khandwa (42.1°C).
Among major cities, Bhopal recorded 41.1°C, Indore 40.8°C, Gwalior 34.1°C, Ujjain 41.4°C, and Jabalpur 38.9°C. Pachmarhi was the coolest, at 35°C. Some districts like Seoni, Chhindwara, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, Raisen, and Shivpuri saw a drop in temperature.
