MP March 31 Weather Update: Rain, Hailstorms & Strong Winds Likely In Early April Across 40 Districts
IMD Bhopal stated that a cyclonic circulation system is likely to form over central Maharashtra and the Konkan region within 24 hours.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is set to experience intense weather conditions in the first three days of April, with hailstorms, rain, and strong winds expected across more than 40 districts. A strong weather system is becoming active, bringing significant changes in temperature and atmospheric conditions.
IMD Bhopal stated that a cyclonic circulation system is likely to form over central Maharashtra and the Konkan region within 24 hours. This system, combined with a trough in the plateau region, will pull moisture from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, influencing weather patterns in Madhya Pradesh.
Four-Day Weather Breakdown:
March 31: Cloudy skies with light showers in Mandsaur, Ratlam, Alirajpur, and Barwani. Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur will experience sunny weather.
April 1: Hailstorms expected in Narmadapuram, Betul, Burhanpur, and Khandwa. Strong winds (40-50 km/h) in Harda, Khargone, Chhindwara, and Pandhurna. Winds at 30-40 km/h in Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dewas, Mandsaur, Narsinghpur, and Sagar.
April 2: Hailstorm warning in Narmadapuram, Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Dhar, Anuppur, Dindori, and Balaghat. High-speed winds in multiple districts, including Shivpuri, Vidisha, Raisen, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Gwalior, and Sagar.
April 3: Hailstorm alert in Betul. Wind speeds of 40-50 km/h in Khandwa, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Anuppur, Shahdol, and Umaria. Winds at 30-40 km/h in Bhopal, Indore, Sagar, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, and other districts.
Rising Temperatures and Heatwave Alert
After a brief respite, temperatures have begun rising again. Mandla recorded the highest temperature at 39°C, followed by 38.5°C in Betul, 38.4°C in Dhar, and 37.8°C in Khargone.

Ujjain: 36.8°C
Jabalpur: 35.8°C
Unlike previous years, April will start with stormy weather rather than extreme heat. Some areas may witness wind speeds of 40-50 km/h.
Heatwave Expected in April
As April progresses, heatwaves are expected in Malwa-Nimar regions, including Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Khargone, Khandwa, and Dhar. A heatwave is classified when temperatures exceed 40°C or rise 4.6°C above normal.
Extended Summer Forecast
Madhya Pradesh will experience intense summer conditions for the next four months, with 15-20 heatwave days predicted between March and May. April and May will see the most severe heat, with 30-35 days of hot winds affecting daily life. Residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts, take precautions against strong winds and thunderstorms, and prepare for the rising heat in the coming weeks.
