Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Rain continues in many districts of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday as well. Due to heavy rains continuing for the last one month, water level has increased in a total of 54 big dams.
Many dams including Johila, Bargi, Bansagar, Satpura are also overflowing. Their gates have to be opened.
Today (Thursday), there is a heavy rain alert in 12 districts of the state including Gwalior.
Rain alert for 12 districts today
According to the Meteorological Department, the districts where heavy rain is expected during the next 24 hours include Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna and Satna. There may be up to 4.5 inches of rain here. There is a possibility of light rain in Bhopal, Indore.
Due to excessive rain in Dindori, Collector Neha Marvya has declared a holiday in government schools today.
1.1 inch rain in Jabalpur-Gwalior within 9 hours
Earlier on Wednesday, 1.1 inch of water fell in Jabalpur-Gwalior within 9 hours. 1 inch rain fell in the state's only hill station Pachmarhi, 45 inches in Mandla and more than half an inch in Datia.
Similarly, rain continued in many districts including Ratlam, Ujjain, Damoh, Khajuraho of Chhatarpur, Rewa, Sidhi, Balaghat, Shahdol, Shivpuri, Dindori, Mauganj, Betul, Alirajpur. The weather changed in Bhopal in the evening. Light rain also occurred at night.
Due to continuous rain in Alirajpur, the water level in the Ur river increased rapidly. 8 gates of Bansagar Dam in Shahdol were opened. At the same time, 5 gates of Satpura Dam in Sarni of Betul district were opened up to 2 feet.

According to Meteorologists, a monsoon trough is passing through the state. Due to this, there is an alert of heavy rain in the northern part for the next 2 days.
Let us tell you that in this monsoon season, an average of 18.5 inches of rain has fallen in the state, whereas till now 11 inches of water was supposed to fall. According to this, 7.5 inches more rain has fallen. This time the monsoon has been kind to the eastern part.
