Congress may change candidates
It is noteworthy that Nisha Bangre was preparing to contest the assembly elections on Congress ticket from Amla seat of Betul. However, owing to BJP government's delay in accepting her resignation, the Congress declared Manoj Malve as its candidate.
Now, whether Congress will change its Amla candidate or Bangre will fight independently remains a mystery!
Speaking to ANI, Bangre said, "When my struggle was going on, Congress spoke about standing with me. When I was arrested, Congress leaders were with me. They had assured me that they would wait for my resignation. So, I would like to meet Kamal Nath today and ask him about his stand as now I have resigned and now I am independent to fight for the people..."
Govt took 4 months to accept resignation
A departmental inquiry was initiated against Chhatarpur SDM Nisha Bangre on August 21, 2023, alleging violation of Civil Services Conduct Rules 1985. Nisha Bangre had organized a Sarvadharma Sabha at her Betul residence; she had sought permission to attend it. The government did not give permission but she participated in it and then resigned from the service. But the government did not accept his resignation.
Bangre made headlines after she took out a foot march from Amla to Bhopal in order to get her resignation accepted. During the march, Nisha was allegedly beaten and forcefully detained by the police.
