MP December 28 Weather Updates: Pachmarhi, Bhopal Among 25 Districts To Receive Rainfall, Expect Similar Weather For 3 Days; New Year Likely To Be Chilly | PTI/Representative Image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In the month of December, Madhya Pradesh is experiencing heavy rain and hailstorms in several regions. Bhopal witnessed showers at around 3 am on Saturday, whereas it rained around 10 am in Indore. The late-night rain was accompanied by thunder and lightning.
On Friday, districts like Ratlam, Mandsaur, Betul, and Alirajpur witnessed heavy hailstorms, and similar weather is expected on Saturday.
Expect rains in these districts on Saturday
The weather department has issued a warning for many districts in the coming hours. Katni, Pachmarhi, Harda, Sagar, Khajuraho, and Panna may see hailstorms, lightning, and winds up to speeds of 50 km/h. Northern Betul is also likely to experience rain.
Cities like Bhopal, Raisen, Damoh, Rewa, Mauganj, Chitrakoot, Maihar, Betul, Sehore, Vidisha, Omkareshwar, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Tikamgarh, Bhind, Sidhi, Singrauli, Bandhavgarh, Shahdol, and Anuppur are expected to have similar weather with rain and cloudy skies.
Weather expected on Sunday
The rains and thunderstorms are expected to prevail till December 30, after which the chills are going to take over Madhya Pradesh.
On December 28, hail and rain are likely in Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Narmadapuram, Betul, and Pandhurna. Wind speeds could reach 30-40 km/h.
Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Datia, Bhind, Sheopur, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Panna, Damoh, and Niwari may witness light rain, cloudy weather, and strong winds.
New year to be chilly!
However, from December 31 onwards, temperatures are expected to drop significantly as the weather system moves out. Dense fog and a cold wave are predicted to last throughout January, making the start of the new year bitterly cold.
