MP: Cops On Lookout For Interstate Criminal In Abduction, Murder Case

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Abduction and murder of a youth named Sandeep Prajapati on December 2 was the fallout of a grudge over objection of a love affair and suspicion of being a police informer, revealed the interrogation of one of the three accused by Chhola Mandir police on Monday.

Multiple police teams have been roped in to trace and arrest the other two accused, police officials said. Shockingly, the prime accused of the case identified as Awakesh turned out to be a hardcore inter-state criminal with heinous cases registered against him in multiple states.

The police team arrested Utkarsh who gave vital information to the police regarding the case. In-charge at Chhola Mandir police station Suresh Chandra Nagar said that prime accused Awakesh and Sandeep were in contact for some time.

Awakesh was in an affair with Sandeep’s cousin sister on which the latter has raised objection. Moreover, Sandeep was aware of Awakesh’s past criminal record and had reportedly threatened him to get him arrested in a case lodged against him at Indore.

Another accused Utkarsh, who was arrested claimed that he and Adarsh knew Awakesh through a friend. Awakesh called them to Bhopal on promise of providing job and cash if they help him in killing Sandeep. Box Awakesh lived with fake identity?

Police suspect that Awakesh was living with fake identity in Indore and Bhopal. ACP Richa Jain said till now police have learnt that Awakesh has case of abduction for ransom registered at Indore, a hit and run case in Hyderabad besides a case of stealing and selling a truck at Assam and cases against him in West Bengal and Bihar.

Police is yet to learn about his native place and any of his relatives. The culprit is around 42 years and uses different names and identities. More information on his criminal record will be known following his arrest, the ACP added.
