Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for five districts on Sunday. Districts like Ratlam, Guna, Sagar, Damoh, and Sidhi are forecast to experience intense heat over the next few days. Hot and dry winds are expected in these areas.

Heatwave conditions are expected in central parts of the state. Temperatures will remain high throughout the day and night.
What do meteorologists say?
According to weather experts, temperatures will continue to rise in the coming days, and heatwave conditions may persist across the state.
As northwesterly winds gain strength, the minimum temperatures in regions like Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Rewa, and Narmadapuram are expected to stay around 25 to 27°C, in the third week of April.
Across the state, daytime temperatures may range between 42 to 44°C. Heatwave conditions are likely to continue for the next 2 to 3 days.
Gwalior, Shivpuri, and Mandla may experience unusually warm nights, and the day and night temperatures in cities like Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain are expected to continue rising.

On April 21, cities like Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Gwalior are likely to see daytime temperatures cross 42°C.
Whereas, hot winds will blow across the state, especially in districts bordering Rajasthan. Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain will continue to record high temperatures on April 22.
Temperature Records
Shivpuri recorded the highest temperature on Saturday, reaching 44°C. In total, 26 cities across Madhya Pradesh recorded temperatures above 40°C.
Temperature in big cities were as follows:
Bhopal: 41.4°C; Indore: 40.2°C; Gwalior: 40.4°C; Ujjain: 40.5°C & Jabalpur: 41.7°C
Other cities with over 40°C were Sagar & Narmadapuram: 42.8°C, Mandla & Khajuraho: 42.6°C, Nawgong: 42.5°C; Damoh: 42.4°C; Umaria: 42.3°C; Tikamgarh: 42°C; Raisen: 41.8°C; Khargone: 41.6°C; Khandwa: 41.5°C; Ratlam: 41.4°C; Shajapur: 41.3°C; Dhar & Malajkhand: 41.1°C; Seoni: 40.6°C; Betul: 40.5°C; Satna: 40.3°C; Chhindwara: 40.2°C & Narsinghpur was at 40°C.
