Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A man in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior survived a suicide attempt after jumping off a 35-foot-high railway overbridge, as reported on Sunday.
Fortunately, no life was lost and he sustained only minor injuries.
According to information, the man was identified as Mukesh Ahirwar, a resident of the Hazira area.
Sources said that Mukesh had a fight with his wife on Friday night, after which she left the house in anger. He searched for her all night but couldn’t find her.
On Saturday, still unable to locate his wife, Mukesh consumed alcohol and, in a drunken state, decided to end his life.

He went to the Birlanagar railway station overbridge. Eyewitnesses said that before jumping, he was singing the Bollywood song “Tujhko Pukare Mera Pyaar… Aaja Main Toh Luta Hoon Teri Chah Mein.”
He then jumped from the 35-foot-high bridge onto the railway tracks.
Soon after, RPF (Railway Protection Force) personnel reached the spot and rescued Mukesh from the tracks. When asked why he attempted suicide, he explained that he was heartbroken over his wife leaving him. He had spent the whole night staring at her photo and felt the world was empty without her.
Mukesh was taken to a hospital where doctors found only minor injuries. After first aid, the RPF counseled him and handed him over to his family.
