Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A case of acid attack on a man was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Wednesday.
According to information, the incident occurred in Bhopal’s Gandhi Nagar where a local businessman was targeted. The shopkeeper suffered burn injuries on his hands and legs.
According to police, the attack was carried out by a mentally unstable man, identified as Pramod Sahu.
Police have registered a case on the matter and started an investigation.
Accused under police custody
Sub-Inspector Ayaz Chanda reported that the incident occurred at the Ashram Tiraha area. The victim was identified as Rajesh, who runs a juice shop there.
Around 3:30 pm, the accused, Pramod, came to the shop to have sugarcane juice.
At that time, several women were already sitting at the shop. Pramod sat close to them, which prompted Rajesh to politely ask him to sit elsewhere. Angered by this, Pramod pulled out a bottle from his bag and threw acid on Rajesh.
Rajesh screamed in pain as the acid burned his skin. People nearby rushed to help and managed to catch Pramod. The police were immediately called, and the accused was handed over to them after they arrived at the scene.
