Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): To develop Bhopal as a Metropolitan area, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directed to prepare an action plan by developing network of traffic movement on Agra-Mumbai road, Vidisha Raisen and till Sehore.

He was chairing a meeting at Bhopal district’s development works at Mantralaya on Monday. It was informed in the meeting that for use of BHEL land in development of the city and in the interest of BHEL on 50-50 model basis, an in-principle consent has taken place between Government of India’s Heavy Industry Department and state’s urban administration department.

The CM said Global Investors Summit has established Bhopal as an important centre of Industry and trade. Activities in the field of education, medical, tourism, industry are regularly expanding.

For smooth traffic movement, plan shall be implemented in an integrated manner by establishing mutual linkage of Metro facility and road transportation facility. While doing planning of roads, suggestions of elected representatives shall be incorporated. Satellite survey use shall be ensured in city planning and to monitor illegal settlements. There shall be CCTV cameras in approved colonies.

On the issue related to permission to high rise buildings, he said that the norms prevailing across the norms shall be used in Bhopal.

Officers informed that by seeing the demand of industries in Acharpura, industrial sector is being developed on 31.21 hectares of land at a cost of Rs 32.29 crore. There is plan to develop readymade garment hojari park in 69.91 hectares of land in Satgarhi village of Kolar.

‘Residential facilities under slum-free plan shall not be rented out’

The CM stressed that it shall be ensured that residential facilities developed to make city free from slums shall not be rented out. He cautioned that one shall remain alert in the matter related to construction of illegal colonies and slums.

In such cases, officers of revenue and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be responsible in a direct manner. In case related to land management in BHEL area, he directed for immediate action.

CM instructs to install solar panels on priority

The CM instructed for installation of solar panels on priority basis in all government buildings. The work shall be done in such a fashion that Bhopal shall present an example before the entire country.

For effective control on anti-social elements in Bhopal, he said that effective policing system shall be ensured. Traffic arrangements shall be made better to present example of smart policing.
