Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A new annual toll pass worth ₹3,000 will be available for vehicle users in Madhya Pradesh from August 15, 2025.

This pass, announced by Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, will allow up to 200 trips a year on national highways.

It is expected to benefit regular travellers from cities like Gwalior, who often travel to Bhopal and Delhi by road.

Travelling from Gwalior to Bhopal currently means crossing seven toll plazas and paying about ₹550 one way. For those going to Delhi, five toll plazas cost around ₹625 in toll charges.

With the new pass, one trip will cost just ₹15 on average, and people can recover the full amount by making just 30 trips in a year.

No need of a separate card

This annual pass will be linked to the existing FASTag on the vehicle. There is no need for a separate pass. People can activate the pass through the NHAI app by entering their vehicle number.

Any current FASTag balance will be adjusted.

Areas like Datia, Morena, and Mehraa, located near toll plazas, often see arguments between toll staff and drivers over the 60-km rule. Sometimes, these disputes have even turned violent.

Officials believe this new system will reduce such incidents.

NHAI Manager Prashant Meena said, “With this pass, even 30 trips in a year will make it worth the money. And with lower charges and fewer stops, travel will become easier and more peaceful for everyone.”
