Atleast 80% of ration card holders in the state have completed their electronic KYC (e-KYC) process, which is necessary to join the new system. The government has set May 31 as the final deadline for the remaining card holders to complete their e-KYC. Without it, they may not be able to get ration after June 1.
The Smart PDS will help keep a clear record of how food grains are given out. It will make sure only eligible people receive ration and stop misuse or fraud. The central government will be able to monitor ration distribution in all states, including Madhya Pradesh, ensuring fair and equal distribution across the country.

Earlier, some states were giving ration to families above the poverty line (APL), but with the new system, this problem will be fixed. The rules will be the same for everyone.
This system will also support the "One Nation One Ration Card" scheme, which allows people to collect ration from any state in India, not just their own.
The government urges all remaining ration card holders to complete their e-KYC before May 31 to continue receiving ration smoothly under the new system.
