Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): In a significant move to enhance women’s security, Gwalior police on Sunday started the first ‘Pink Police Station’ modelled after similar initiatives in Delhi.
This station, staffed entirely by female police officers and constables, aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for women.
As part of this initiative, a Pink Police Chowki has been set up in the Gwalior Chambal division, with plans to expand the network across the state. Along the lines of initiatives in Delhi, a ‘Pink Booth’ has been established in the bustling Sarafa Bazaar, a high-footfall area known for incidents of pick pocketing and molestation.

Gwalior SP Dharmveer Singh Yadav emphasised that women's safety is a top priority for the Madhya Pradesh government. These chowkis will ensure that zero FIRs are promptly registered for crimes against women. Furthermore, a new ‘Pink police chowki’ will be set up in Morar, a suburb of Gwalior, with plans for future expansions to enhance women's safety across the region.
