Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh): A scam supply of paddy worth Rs 1 crore procured for custom milling on the minimum support price (MSP) has come to light in Balaghat district.
After the scam was exposed, an order was issued to register an FIR against rice millers, transporters and truck drivers.
Nearly 2918.81 quintals of paddy worth ₹1 crore were lifted in the name of a rice mill in Chhindwara from a supply centre at Nadlesara in Katangi in three trucks.
But, instead of Chhindwara, the paddy was being taken to Gondia in Maharashtra. The officials of the food and civil supplies department caught trucks with the help of Rampayali police on June 26 this year.
