Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Nearly 3,471 high and higher secondary schools in the state have been equipped with advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs. Financial assistance has also been provided for tablets to 44,000 teachers of high and higher secondary schools.

School education secretary Sanjay Goyal informed this to school education minister Uday Pratap Singh in a task force meeting on Wednesday. He said that an online tracking system has been established for students to monitor their progress.

Efforts are being made to ensure that scholarships, uniforms, and bicycles are provided in sync with the academic session.  Goyal also said that free textbooks would be distributed to students in April itself. Departmental officials have been instructed accordingly.

The meeting brought attention to the fact that around one lakh children are currently enrolled in 4,473 pre-primary schools across the region. To ensure quality education and holistic development, teachers in these schools have undergone specialised training in early childhood care and education (ECCE). This training equips educators with the necessary skills to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children.

Additionally, efforts have been made to enhance the well-being of students through the PM Nutrition program. Dedicated arrangements have been put in place on the education portal to ensure that children enrolled in pre-primary classes receive nutritional support as part of this initiative. These steps reflect a strong commitment to early childhood education, focusing not only on academic readiness but also on the overall health and development of young learners.
