Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): The 61 officers and employees of Gwalior Municipal Corporation got some relief as the High Court stayed Justice Ahluwalia's order on Tuesday. The next hearing is now scheduled for June 23.

Earlier, Justice Ahluwalia had ruled postings of 61 GMC employees and officers, including commissioner Sangh Priy, as unlawful, prompting the Municipal Corporation and the government to appeal before a double bench.

The court also directed the government to take action against additional commissioner Anil Kumar Dubey, though challenges remain, as all 61 are on deputation.

Meanwhile, veterinarians Dr Anuj Sharma and Dinesh Dixit, who were relieved earlier, will not benefit from the stay. The case continues to highlight irregularities in deputation postings within the civic body.

Bike-borne thugs snatch gold chain

Two bike-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a 65-year-old woman professor in Gwalior’s The Address Colony early Tuesday. The incident occurred early in the morning when the victim, Dr Vibha, was on her way to a temple.

According to sources, the miscreants approached her to ask for the address of an advocate. However, the victim said that she did not know the address. Amid all this, one of the miscreants grabbed her neck and snatched her chain before fleeing. Neighbours rushed after hearing her screams, but the culprits escaped.

CSP Hina Khan said CCTV footage captured the entire incident, showing the suspects conducting a recce before the crime. Police have registered a case and are trying to identify the accused.
