Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued notices to different authorities regarding the non-functional traffic signals in the Jabalpur on Tuesday.
The court has asked the concerned departments to submit their responses by July 27.
According to information, the notice has been issued to the state government, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, and Jabalpur Smart City authorities after all 26 traffic signals in the city were found to be non-functional for the past six months.
The action comes after a public interest petition was filed by the Citizen Consumer Guidance Forum, raising concerns over the poor traffic management in the city.
The petition also pointed out that several CCTV cameras at key junctions are not working.

The plea states that the Municipal Corporation, Smart City officials, and Traffic Department continue to blame each other for the ongoing issue instead of taking responsibility and fixing the problem.
Meanwhile, ordinary citizens are suffering every day due to traffic jams, confusion at intersections, and a lack of proper traffic management. The situation has led to daily inconvenience and safety concerns on the roads.
Taking serious note of this, the High Court has now sought detailed and clear responses from all three departments to explain why the traffic signals have remained non-functional for such a long period and what steps are being taken to resolve the matter.
