Madhya Pradesh High Court Reserves Verdict On Paramedical Council's 'Contradictory' Submissions

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh High Court Principal bench at Jabalpur has reserved its decision on an application filed by Law Students Association highlighting the 'contradictory' stands by Madhya Pradesh Paramedical Council in connection with affiliation to paramedical colleges and students’ admission.

Petitioner, Law Students Association president Vishal Baghel in his application had sought initiation of perjury and criminal contempt of court proceedings in the case of filing a false affidavit in the court by the Registrar of Paramedical Council.

The petitioner had told the High Court that till date, Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur did not provide affiliation to any paramedical college for the session 2023-24, due to which admission of students in any institutions was not legally possible as per the rules.

Despite this, the Paramedical Council, on one hand had told the High Court that as per the rules, admission was not possible without affiliation, but on the other hand stated before the Supreme Court that the admission process has been completed and the session of the students is underway.

On the same basis, the Supreme Court had put an interim stay on the order of the High Court dated July 16. In the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed in the Supreme Court on July 28, 2025, the Council itself had said that 21,894 students were studying in the session 2023-24 by taking admission between January and July and the session had begun.

Petitioner's lawyer Alok Wagrecha told the High Court that the affidavits filed by Council Registrar in both the courts (High and supreme courts) are completely contradictory and misleading, which are part of a conspiracy to mislead the court, to interfere in the judicial process.
