Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A student from Fort View School lost his life on Sunday after being subjected to brutal physical abuse by a teacher.
The victim, identified as Krishna Chauhan, an 8th-grade student, succumbed to his injuries during the course of his treatment.
According to the father, earlier instances of punishment had deeply affected the child, involving the principal Aakash Shrivastav and teachers Sonu Shrivastav and Akbar Khan.
Despite the family's explicit instructions against physical punishment. On July 12, Akbar Khan made the boy sit like a "human chicken," while Sonu Shrivastav forcefully struck him with a stick, causing considerable pain.
Following this incident, the child collapsed on his way home, experiencing vomiting.
The concerned school staff arrived at the scene, providing Rs. 14,000 for medical treatment and suggesting that the child be treated at a private hospital.
Unfortunately, his condition did not improve, and he was admitted to JayaRogya Hospital, where he tragically passed away on Sunday morning.
The family brought their lifeless child's body to the school, accusing the staff of his murder. Promptly responding to the situation, the police assured the family that they would take appropriate action based on the post-mortem report.
The school staff has not yet issued a statement regarding the allegations.
The grieving family has demanded the retrieval of CCTV footage from the school premises and statements from other students to uncover any potential mistreatment within the school.
Currently, the Bahodapur Police is treating Krishna's death as a homicide, pending further investigation into the matter.
