Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Promotions To Government Employees Pending Since 9 Years
For Class 4 employees, there is no requirement of minimum marks for promotion.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In a major development, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet decided to provide promotions to government employees.
The government has worked out a promotion formula which envisages giving 20% reservation to ST, 16% reservation to SC, and then general candidates will be considered for promotion.
It is after a nine-year wait that government employees will be getting the promotion.
Public servants of SC and ST categories will get promotions on a merit basis. In the promotion formula, appropriate care of seniority has been taken.
As far as senior public servants are concerned, those public servants will be eligible for promotion who get minimum marks according to merit.
For Class One public servants, there will be a provision of merit-cum-seniority.
For Class 4 employees, there is no requirement of minimum marks for promotion.

Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the government has also decided to provide some relaxation to employees who could not get promotions due to Character Report related issues. If the CR is of six months, then it will be considered for the entire year. He also added that owing to the aforesaid decision, around two lakh vacant posts will be created.
Apart from this, the Cabinet also provisioned Rs 5,163 crore to fix power transmission-related problems. This is to ensure that people get quality power service.

Owing to the government’s promotion-related decision, around 4 lakh employees are expected to benefit.
Notably, the matter of promotions is still under consideration in the Apex Court, but the Court has not placed any restriction on the state government from framing new rules.
Now, after a wait of nine years, the government is finally set to grant promotions to its employees.
