Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A bear has strayed into Ramtoriya village in Ghuwara creating panic among the residents for the past three days. The villagers saw the bear in a sugarcane field near Gullankheda village and immediately informed the forest department.
A team of foresters rushed to the spot and began to monitor the movements of the animal. According to reports, the bear strayed into the human settlement in search of food and water.
The villagers are scared of getting out of their homes. They said a bear attacked and a 64-year-old villager a few days ago and injured him. The injured villager was admitted to a hospital.

The bear has entered the village of its own, and if nobody disturbs it, the animal return to the forest on its own, the forest officials said.
They advised the villagers to keep away from the animal stay indoors at night. On the other hand, the villagers said the forest department had just done the formality. The villagers demanded the forest department to catch the animal and release it into the forest to avoid any untoward incident. During the rainy season, wild animals often stray into human settlements in search of food.
