Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): There is an alert of heavy rain on Monday in 8 districts including Gwalior-Chhatarpur in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh. It rained in these districts on Sunday as well. The rising water-level of Yamuna river in Uttar Pradesh caused spate in Mandakini river in MP’s Chitrakoot. As a result, roads were water-clogged and over 100 shops were flooded.

On the contrary, sun shone bright in capital Bhopal. Increase in tempertaure and humidity were seen here.

What does meteorologist says?

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a trough and cyclonic circulation activity over the northern part. Its effect is also being seen in the state.

Due to this, there is an alert of heavy rain in Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Sheopur, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur on Monday. In these districts, up to 4 and a half inches of water may fall in the next 24 hours.

Flood conditions prevailed last week

Flood conditions prevailed in the state last week. Monsoon was very kind especially in the eastern part i.e. Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol and Sagar divisions. Betwa river took a terrible form in Raisen.

Fields, temples and bridges got submerged. Rains have stopped for two days, but the Narmada river is in spate. The dams are overflowing. Their gates were opened.

Yellow alert for heavy rain

Yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for northern districts including, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Sheopur, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur. Here, up to 4.5 inches of water can fall in the next 24 hours.

There is an alert of thunderstorm and light rain in all the districts of the state.
