Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The monsoon session of the 16th Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly is set to commence on Monday (July 27). Officials informed on Sunday that the session will span 12 days, during which 10 sittings of the House will be conducted.
Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar visited Vidhan Sabha to review the preparations ahead of the session. He also held discussions with senior officials and directed them to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for uninterrupted functioning of the Assembly proceedings.
Principal Secretary of the Legislative Assembly, AP Singh, said that the Assembly Secretariat has received many questions and motions from members, reflecting the high level of interest and participation expected during the session.
As per the data shared, 1,718 starred questions and 1,659 unstarred questions have been submitted - totaling 3,377 questions.
Issues calling for attention
In addition to the questions, 226 call attention notices, 23 private member resolutions, 65 notices for zero hour discussions, one adjournment motion, and one notice under Rule 139 have also been received.
These figures indicate that the session will be packed with a range of issues likely to be raised by the opposition and ruling party members.
Infrastructure, Agriculture, to be discussed
Also, 3 important government bills are to be introduced in the House. Details of these bills are yet to be formally disclosed. Officials have hinted that they may pertain to administrative reforms and public welfare initiatives.
The monsoon session is expected to discuss matters related to governance, development works, and public grievances.
As the state faces key challenges during the monsoon season - including infrastructure, agriculture, and flood management - these topics can also be discussed.
Strict security and logistical arrangements have been made around for smooth functioning of the session.
