Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident that ignited outrage amongst people in Jabalpur, a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader was allegedly beaten up by a cop during a routine vehicle checking operation on Friday night.
The incident took place near the Tilwara police station, and the victim’s family has now appealed directly to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, seeking justice and strict action against the accused cops.

According to information, the victim, Pawan Sharma, who serves as a divisional officer in the BJYM, was reportedly on his way to Tilwara Ghat for Narmada Darshan along with a friend around 8 pm when he was stopped by the police as part of a standard vehicle checking drive.
According to Sharma, he was asked to present his vehicle documents and explain the absence of a helmet. He claimed that all documents were provided and that he agreed to accept the challan for not wearing a helmet. However, tensions escalated when he protested against the officer's misbehavior on duty.
Sharma pressed charges on Tilwara police station in-charge Brijesh Mishra and Jaishankar and Rahul who allegedly assaulted the youth with sticks. Marks and injuries were prominent on Sharma's body.
Sharma was chased away after the assault
After this, Pawan Sharma was chased away from the police station. After this incident, Pawan Sharma informed the organization. After which he was sent to Vijaynagar police station.
From there Sharma was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.
