The water level of the Parvati and Papnas rivers increased because of the heavy rainfall, which began Friday night and continued throughout the day on Saturday.

Rainwater also gathered in the crop lands, which are looking like ponds. According to a farmer, Ram Singh, most of the fields are under knee-deep water because of 48 hours of rainfall.
The road outside the JK Hospital was filled with water, which caused trouble for pedestrians and vehicle drivers. The rainwater entered several shops at the old bus stand, Budhwara, and Pardesi Pura, causing damage to the essential commodities kept there.
A fortnight ago, when the city recorded heavy rains, water entered many shops at the bus stand. The shopkeepers said the civic body failed to solve the problem of water logging in the area.
This is the reason that whenever there is heavy rain, water enters the shops, they said, adding that they informed the officials of the civic body about the problem, but their pleas went unheard.
