Gwalior Man Run Over By Three Trucks One After Other A Day Before Daughter's Engagement

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 47-year-old man was run over by three trucks one after the other in Gwalior. The entire incident took place in just 20 seconds.

The incident took place at around 2 am on Sunday night, when the victim had gone to buy food from a nearby hotel. He died during treatment on Monday, a day before his daughter's engagement.

The accident took place at Laxmiganj culvert near Ramdwara on AB Road. Deceased Devendra Jatav was going to the hotel when a truck hit him. He fell on the road and in the drizzling rain, three trucks passed over Devendra consecutively. Both his legs got stuck to the road. He was taken to the trauma center.

The elder daughter's engagement was scheduled for July 16

The engagement of the elder daughter of Devendra Jatav, a resident of Gol Pahariya Navgrah Colony, was to take place on Tuesday i.e. today. He was going to his daughter's in-laws' house. His brother Gajendra Jatav (39) has lodged an FIR in Janakganj police station.

He told that “on Sunday night at around 2 o'clock, brother was going from Laxmiganj to Bahodapur. The accident took place at Laxmiganj culvert, on receiving the information, I reached the spot and with the help of police, admitted him to the trauma center. He died on Monday.”

Devendra used to take contracts for color-putty

Gajendra said that his brother has two daughters and one son. Devendra used to work as a contractor. On Sunday, he had returned from work in Ghatigaon. His wife had gone to her sister's in-laws' place in Dabra.

When his brother reached home, he asked his daughter for food. The daughter said there were no vegetables. So, late at night, he went out to buy some food from a hotel. Since the nearby hotels were closed, he went a little further.

When he didn’t return home for a long time, his son went out to look for him. After a while, they received news of the accident. He is survived by two daughters and a son.
