GIS-2025: Bhopal Police Conduct Security Verification Within 2Km-Radius Of Venue

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Ahead of the Global Investors’ Summit (GIS-2025), city police have intensified security measures, including a verification census of residents and workers within a 2km-radius of the venue, Manav Sangrahalaya.
The verification process includes personal identification checks, current residence details, work backgrounds, and designations of individuals employed within the high-security zone. Residential verification involves gathering information on family members, tenants, and theirpersonal identification details.

According to officials, most high-security zones fall under the jurisdiction of Zone-2 and Zone-3 police stations. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-3, Riyaz Iqbal, said to the Free Press that the security verification census in his zone commenced two weeks ago and has now been completed. “More than 15 families and several individuals working in nearby organisations have been verified,” he said.
The police are also focusing on collecting licensed weapons from residents as part of the security initiative. The heightened security protocol is being enforced to ensure the safety of the Prime Minister and other dignitaries attending the summit. Police stations across all four city zones have been instructed to conduct security verification in designated high-security areas, including the venue, the Prime Minister’s accommodation, and his travel route.

Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra told the Free Press that security preparations are on and measures will be in place until the event concludes. “We have devised comprehensive security plans ahead of the GIS-2025. Around 5,000 police personnel will be deployed across various parts of the city, and drones will be used for surveillance. Additionally, all forms of protests will be strictly prohibited within the high-security zone,” Mishra said.
